I got a few like that but alot of my age group still race!
I recognise 2 names, they would be 27 now if im right?
Were 60 or 80 when I was big wheel or 125
This a probably be done loads of times but I always find this subject fascinating. I did most of my riding during the 90's and there was dozens of top schoolboy riders who I thought would have made it. But they didn't and they seemed to just disappear. I want to know what happened to them. They don't have to be from the 90's, they can be from the era you rode in.
I was good friends with Tim Heasman but before anyone asks I do not know what happened to him. I haven't seen or spoken to Tm in years.
What happened to:
Paul Richards (top 100cc in the early 90's)
Mark Hook
Leon Day
John Radford

their parents ran out of money and the lads found fanny and beer !!!!!!!!
I love this sport but it doesn't give back anything financially unless you're at the very pinnacle. In America you can make (or at least get back) a small amount through amateur racing, even on the local level. But over here it's just a non existent pipe dream. Not surprised to see so much talent wander away from their careers and back to reality.
There are not many big names in MX, just lots of egos, that's why everyone disappears. Why dedicate every inch of your life to a sport that gives nothing in return except enjoyment financial ruin and injury in equal measure. If you get to a decent level like lots of top schoolboys you easily win adult club races and get bored. There is no incentive to race big championships other than bragging rights. Your mates start earning ££££, partying and chasing women and the pull is too strong for most.

Jamie Breaker
Timmy Heasmen
Ben Stevens
What happened to these guys? Awesome in there day at EKSSC
As I said before I was good friends with Tim Heasman and as tns said he got into a bit of trouble. Tim was a regular in the british championship, inside the top 15, he was the about the same speed as Danny and Jody Smythe. Did anyone see the picture of Tim, Mark Hucklebridge and Stephen Sword in TMX the other week. It was them winning that international schoolboy race (can't pronounce the name).
Jamie Breaker just quit after Experts. Don't know why.
No sure what happened to Ben Stevens but he was bloody fast in the Seniors. I was at a GEST meeting about 15 yrs ago and Ben hadn't been on the scene for ages and a guy turned up in Ben's riding gear (he wore JT gear and had his name on his jersey) and he was really slow. Not to sure if it was Ben or not.
