hi i need to get hold of anyone who can get me some gear from america. e.g Scott Genius Boots GMO and BTO are more expensive, so anyone that goes america a lot and comes back often could perhaps get me some boots and i could pay them a bit if their cheap enough.

i think its anything over 60 quid is valid for customs charges.. sometimes things dont get picked up, but if you do get caught it will probably cost you more than if you bought them in the uk.

What's the cheapest you've found them for in the states?

i used to get abit of stuff from the usa but its just not worth it anymore. always end up payin between 35-80 at parcel force for it and thats with the items marked as gift and a lower price wrote on the customs form. it still made it worth while when there was more difference between the pound and dollar.

customs are getting wise to marking the items as gift and they can open the packet and then you have to pay import tax, vat and the handling fee. even if your luck and dont get taxed, still have to pay the parcel force handling fee its just easier to pay a few quid more and support UK companeys because when you look at the price of the item, shipping and then import tax/handling fee theres nothing in the price difference.
