My memory might be faulty, but I *think* he went to the 250s with Kawasaki (1992) before going to the 125s (with Yamaha?). If he had remained in the 500s he could - and probably would - have been a World Champion, but manufacturer attention had switched to the 250 class in the early 1990s (hence Captain Kurt going to Castrol Honda). The fact that he (Malin) re-invented himself as 125 rider was impressive, as the only time I recall seeing him on one before the switch was 1989.

i remember his younger brother going on emu's pink windmill and rod hull rode pauls bike around a quarry and it had a red seat, i loved those red seats on kx's, paul said his sister still has the t shirt from the pink windmill ! i have a load of factory parts off his 92 250 ,i'm going to buld a PM sr replica one day using the sr parts

hello... I come from Belgium and I was supporting David since his debut... a good guy, nice, worker, a very good rider and especially my favorit cousin!
yes he comes from my family (the son of my mother's brother)
the year of his accident, he was promised to a better future with a better machine and sponsor... but the sade fate decided otherwise...
it's thanks to him i could ride... just for my pleasure... I did not have his talent...
